J. Michael Straczynski will be doing a book launch at The Crest Theater, next door to Capital Books. We’ll be hosting a discussion and book signing after the movie (TBA).

Coming from Hugo Award-winning author and creator of Babylon 5, J. Michael Straczynski, THE GLASS BOX (Blackstone Publishing; Jan 9, 2024) reimagines Ken Kesey’s classic One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest in an America where protests have been outlawed, and protestors marked in need of “reeducation” before they can return to society.

Riley Diaz was born with protesting in her bloodline; but when she’s arrested and offered a choice between hard time in prison and an experimental in-patient program meant to rehabilitate troublemaking citizens, she figures one will be easier to escape than the other. Faced with forced therapy, involuntary medication, and solitary confinement, Riley fights to stand up to an unjust system fraught with manipulation and gaslighting, hoping to stop the horrific program from nationwide implementation before it’s too late.

With a stellar, fully realized cast of characters and a terrifying concept that feels all too real, THE GLASS BOX is a psychological thriller to challenge, entertain, and excite readers in 2024.
