Covers So Bright You Gotta Wear Shades

With Catriona McPherson, Cindy Sample & Kristi Abbott

Here comes the summer! Whether you’re headed to the ocean, the lake, the campground, or the patio in your own backyard, you’ll need some sunshine-y reads for those long, lazy days. Why not let three bestselling and award-winning mystery authors — Catriona McPherson, Kristi Abbott, and Cindy Sample — tempt you with a selection of books that are light, bright, and sparkling, but still pack a punch (and a puzzle). Laughter is guaranteed as this trio of witty women serve up a slice of summertime.

Because we only have a capacity for 50 people, and we anticipate this event to be popular, we encourage you to arrive early to the event. We will have several copies of many of the authors’ books at the store for purchase. Catriona, Kristi, and Cindy will be available afterward to sign their books for you.

Cindy Sample

Cindy Sample is a former corporate CEO who decided plotting murder was more entertaining than plodding through paperwork. Her national bestselling mystery series, described as Erma Bombeck meets Agatha Christie, features single soccer mom, Laurel McKay. The series, set in the California Gold Country, includes Dying for a Date, Dying for a Dance, Dying for a Daiquiri, Dying for a Dude, Dying for a Donut, Dying for a Diamond and Dying for a Deal. Cindy is a five-time nominee for the LEFTY Award for Best Humorous Mystery. Cindy loves her research!

Catronia McPherson

Catriona McPherson is the multi-award-winning and national best-selling author of the Dandy Gilver series of preposterous detective stories, set in her native Scotland in the 1930s. She also writes darker contemporary suspense novels, the latest of which is Go To My Grave. After eight years as an immigrant in northern California, Catriona began the Last Ditch trilogy, written with love and no judgment (honest) about her new home. Scot and Soda is the second book. The first, Scot Free, won the 2019 award for best comic mystery at Left Coast Crime. Catriona is a proud lifetime member and former national president of Sisters in Crime.

Kristi Abbott

Kristi has been obsessed with popcorn since first tasting the caramel cashew popcorn at Garrett’s in Chicago. If you’ve never had it, you might want to hop on a plane and go now. Seriously, it’s that good.

Kristi lives in northern California, although she was born in Ohio like the Rebecca, the heroine of the Popcorn Shop Mysteries. She loves snack food, crocheting, her kids, and her man, not necessarily in that order.

Kristi also writes as Eileen Rendahl, Eileen Carr, and Lillian Bell. Click here to learn more about her other books.
